Lysette Portano
Meet our DNYS teacher

Originally from Mexico City, Lysette Portano has been dancing since she was 6. Graduated from the system of the Royal Academy of Dancing of London, she began dancing professionally in Mexico City with companies such as: Foco al Aire, Oscar Ruvalcaba and Vicente Silva Cía. de Danza. Yoga and pilates have nurtured her dancing career and helped her stay in shape physically and mentally.
In 2015, she moved to Houston, TX where she continued her journey as a dancer and took her first steps to become a teacher: her 200-hr YTT. After moving to the NL in 2022, she decided to pursue a pilates comprehensive certification with BASI, where she learned to teach in all pilates equipment and she has been teaching since. Moreover, her desire to share the practice with others and conviction in the benefits of pilates, she completed the pre-post natal BASI certification.
She believes in building healthy, strong and functional bodies and in helping people find joy in movement through pilates, dance and yoga. In her free time she loves to spend time with her loved ones, travel, go to the theater, read, or just hang out outside in nature.
