Agnes Vissering
Meet our DNYS teacher

Agnes Vissering is a yoga teacher at DNYS and discovered yoga in 2000 in Bali. Continuing her travels through India and Scandinavia, she found herself drawn to yoga once again.
Her search for deeper understanding led her to complete a two-year teacher training with Katiza Satya and Hilary Menting. The practice brought profound changes, helping her to slow down her once-turbulent lifestyle. She found more balance, strength, and acceptance—not only on a physical level but also in her inner well-being. Through these experiences, not only did her practice evolve, but she also discovered the teacher within herself.
Legends
Her journey of refinement led her even further. She immersed herself in the teachings of great masters, attending workshops and practicing with Pattabhi Jois, David Swenson, Petri Räisänen, Lino Miele, and many other inspiring teachers. Additionally, she returned to India multiple times to deepen her practice and teach. Each encounter, each lesson, and each breath on the mat revealed new layers of understanding—about the body, the mind, and the subtle energies that weave everything together.
Ashtanga love
In her own teachings, Agnes guides her students in reconnecting with their bodies and breath, allowing a natural flow of energy that cultivates awareness and inner peace. Although Ashtanga is her main practice, over the years she has studied and teaches Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin Yoga, and breathwork. She blends the rich traditions of her teachers with her own experience and intuition.
Beyond yoga, Agnes has explored the healing power of touch. She traveled to Mysore for Ayurvedic massage training and completed a Classical Massage training at Leffelaar. However, she truly discovered and specialized in Thai Yoga Massage, studying with teachers such as Sebastian Bruno, Izhak Hellman, Krisnataki, and David Lutt. Nearly every year, she returns to Sunshine House in Greece to refine her techniques with one of her teachers, Krisnataki (Sunshine Network).
Massages
For Agnes, Thai Yoga Massage is more than just a technique; it is a dialogue between touch and energy, a dance of surrender and awareness. Through intentional postures and stretches, she helps her students and clients feel their bodies more deeply, release tension, and restore the natural flow of energy.
