to the class scheduleBooked a class? Here's how to prepare
Wear clothes that allow you to move easily and feel comfortable. For active classes, athletic clothing is helpful because your body will warm up and you'll likely sweat. For more relaxed classes like yin yoga or breathwork, it's helpful to wear something warm, like a sweater and socks.
Yoga props such as blocks, blankets, and meditation cushions can help make poses more comfortable and accessible. We also sometimes use aids, such as balls or resistance bands, in classes like Pilates. Everything is available in our studios.
Are you taking an online class? Then you can easily use alternatives at home. Think of a stack of books instead of a block, a pillow or couch cushion for support, a towel with an elastic band as a replacement for a ball, or tights or thin leggings instead of a resistance band.
It's best to avoid drinking during your yoga class. This will extinguish the fire that builds during your practice. Instead, drink before or after your yoga class. Also, try not to eat for an hour and a half before class. This way, your stomach won't get in the way during the yoga poses.
Let your practice be a moment to disconnect from external stimuli and turn inward. Leave your phone at home or in a locker. Phones are not allowed in our studios, so that you and others can truly connect with yourselves. Without external distractions.
