Return to Baseline - Deep Stress Release
Stress, we all experience it. Life moves fast and can often feel overwhelming. Always juggling balls in the air; work, private lives, relationships. Feeling we have to do it all and do it all perfectly! We are constantly overloaded with information and always on the move. Life can get stressful and eventually exhausting when we are always on the run and in “doing” mode. And the more we are “up and doing”, the more we get disconnected from our natural resting state; our baseline.
Dealing with stress (the wrong way)
Whether it is a deadline you need to catch, worrying about your future or even feeling responsible for your loved ones, stress takes on many forms and builds up over time. To deal with it, you may have a nice glass of wine, have a heart to heart talk with a good friend and a good night sleep to catch up with life again. You may think the stress is gone. But think again! Much of the stress is hidden deeper down in your system and you will only have skimmed off the top layer. How do you know this is the case for you? The next time something or someone triggers you, your stress level is right back where it was and you feel just as overwhelmed again.
Not just a band-aid
Whatever the cause, it is good to realize that stress is not just a mental thing, it manifests in your body and breath too. And the good news is that with a little help, you are very capable of releasing accumulated deep stress! With basic and practical information on neurophysiology of the effect of stress on your body, brain and nervous system, you will get the knowledge and understanding to release stress from your body. These sessions are not designed to just “cream off” the excess stress you have, but with some practice, will work on a deeper level and release stored up tension. Every session will include specific stress release yoga, pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation and yoga nidra (deep relaxation). Some sessions will include partner work (no touch).
This 4 week course is for you if:
-you feel stressed; have tight and sore muscles and if you are unable to relax or “come down” after your day
-you experience obsessive thinking, negative thinking, or keep running the same “thinking script” in your mind.
-you feel emotionally over-sensitive, easily irritated, frustrated, angry or overwhelmed, sometimes with no clear cause.
-have poor sleeping habits, cannot fall asleep easily, wake up at night, restless sleeping
-feel nervous or “on edge” all the time
-experience bad breathing patterns: gasping for breath, shallow or constricted breath, unable to breathe naturally deep and relaxed.
After 4 weeks, you will be able to release a lot of the accumulated tension in your system. You will feel more clear-headed and peaceful, your sleep will improve, you will have more energy and your body will feel more open and relaxed.
This is what you can expect:
