What to expect of the Breath & Body Workshop with Chris?
The evening starts with a guided meditation followed by a brief explanation of the exercises and the effects they have on body and mind. The first exercises are muscle and connective tissue activation forms with an emphasis on the pelvic area. In this area the body stores a lot of stress -unconsciously. The techniques used make this stored (stress) energy more accessible for release.
Following the exercises described above, there is an extensive connected breathwork session, lasting approximately 60 minutes. With this breathing method, you breathe in and out deeply in a relaxed manner for a longer period of time. Due to the increased amount of oxygen in your bloodstream and the focus on rhythmic breathing, you will come into deep contact with the body after a while. This creates a state in which the ‘Mind’ is silent, there are no thoughts and the head is empty. At this moment it is possible to experience the purity of yourself within yourself.
Practical information
- Wear comfortable (sports) clothing in layers (heat regulation).
- Bring a bottle of water and a small pillow with you.
- Do not eat anything for 2 hours before the session and only drink water or tea.
- Do not consume alcohol and/or drugs the day before.
Contra-indications
