WOOD ELEMENT - SPRING (LIVER AND GALL BLADDER MERIDIANS)
Nourish and balance the Liver and Gall bladder meridians and tune into the Spring season
In ancient Chinese philosophy of Daoism (Taoism), the observation of nature revealed a whole wealth of knowledge, which enabled the sages to understand the flowing pattern of life. They observed that plants, trees and animals, as well as the seasons and planets all lived according to cyclical movements.
Daoist philosophy engendered the concepts of Yin-Yang (Dao) and the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). The Dao is the intrinsic balance of everything, It is the tranquility found in the middle of all events, and the path leading to the centre. It gives us a perspective that enables us to find balance among these five ever-flowing elements which make up every aspect of nature and as human beings, we are an integral part of it.
In a series of five workshops Yin yoga teacher, Alison Melvin and acupuncturist, Roslyn Go will deepen your understanding of Yin yoga and how it relates to Chinese medicine and the meridian system. Looking at each of the five elements in turn, we will practice with the relevant Yin-Yang meridians and work with nourishing the emotions connected with the corresponding organs.
Starting with the Spring season and Wood element, Alison will guide you through a special Yin sequence to enliven the Liver and Gall bladder meridians. The workshop will end with Roslyn giving a mini-acupuncture session during Savasana to balance and experience the flow of Qi.
Alison and Roslyn are excited to share their passion and knowledge with you in these unique Yin yoga and TCM workshops.
